How to transcribe Google Meet recordings

Last updated January 18, 2026

Google Meet's built-in transcription features

Google Meet offers automatic transcription for paid Google Workspace plans including Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise, and Education editions. The transcription feature automatically transcribes meetings in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, with transcripts saved to Google Drive and attached to Calendar events.

Why use Audiogest instead

While Google Meet provides basic transcription, Audiogest offers professional features for teams who need more from their meeting transcripts:

  • Accurate transcripts with speaker labels - More accurate transcription with better speaker attribution and inferred names, supporting more languages
  • Custom AI summaries - Generate any type of summary or deliverable using custom prompts tailored to your workflow
  • Team collaboration and exports - Share transcripts and summaries with your team within Audiogest, or export in multiple formats (Word, TXT, SRT)
