How to create and use custom AI prompts to generate summaries and more

What are custom AI prompts?

AI prompts are saved instructions you give to the AI. Use them to automatically create summaries, action items, reports, insights, or any custom text output.

  • Extract exactly what you want from transcripts in your specified format
  • Automate repetitive analysis tasks
  • Generate consistent, structured results

How to create your first AI prompt

1. Go to the AI Prompts page

In the app, click on Prompts in the sidebar.

2. Click “Create your first prompt”

This opens the prompt editor.

3. Fill in your prompt details

  • Name: Short label (e.g. “Marketing Summary”)
  • Instruction: What you want the AI to do (e.g. “Summarize this transcript with a focus on campaign outcomes and action items.”)
  • You can choose from some presets to get you started

4. Save the prompt

Your new prompt will now show up in your list when you upload a new file or when you want to generate a new AI document based on an existing transcript.

How to use a saved AI prompt

1. Upload a new file

Go the file upload page to upload a new file for transcription.

2. Select your prompt in “Generate AI Document”

Select one of your saved prompts from the dropdown. 

3. Wait for the file to be transcribed and the AI to generate the document

The AI output appears directly below. You can copy, edit, or download it.

Managing prompts

To update or delete prompts, go back to the Prompts page. Here you can view, edit and remove your custom AI prompts.
