How to transcribe WhatsApp voice messages on Android

WhatsApp's built-in voice message transcription

WhatsApp offers voice message transcription on Android. You can transcribe voice messages directly within WhatsApp to read what was said without having to listen. Transcripts are generated on your device and remain end-to-end encrypted.

To use WhatsApp transcription:

1. Go to WhatsApp Settings > Chats > Voice message transcripts
2. Turn on the feature and select your language
3. Download the language pack (you can choose to wait for Wi-Fi)
4. Tap and hold any voice message, then tap the three dots > "Transcribe"

WhatsApp transcription on Android currently supports English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian only.
