How to get a transcript of your recording

Upload your audio or video files to Audiogest to transcribe and summarize meetings, interviews, calls, or any spoken content. This guide shows how to upload files and start using your transcript instantly.

How to upload a file for transcription

1. Got to the Upload file page

Click on the "Upload" button in the sidebar to go to the upload page. Or click here to go to the file upload page.

2. Choose a file

Click the upload area or drag your file(s) into the box. You can select multiple files to batch upload. Supported formats include MP3, MP4, M4A, WAV, MP4, MOV, WebM, OGG, AAC, and more (all video and audio file types). Make sure your file does not exceed the maximum file size of 1GB and maximum duration of 5 Hours.

3. Select AI document like summaries and add file to Project (optional)

  • Under "Generate AI Document" select "Summary" or one of your custom prompts to automatically generate a AI generated document. 
    • Or choose "No document" to no generate a document or do it later
  • Add the file directly to a project

4. Select advanced options like Language and Number of Speakers (Optional)

  • Vocabulary: add any specific names or acronyms here to help our AI recognize them and transcribe them correctly.
  • Language: Detect automatically or choose a specific spoken language in the file (e.g. English, Dutch, French)
    • Tip: specify a language when people are speaking with heavy accents in your recording. This prevents our AI from detecting the wrong language
  • Number of Speakers: Either set to "auto" to autodetect the number of speakers, or specify the exact number of speakers
    • (use only when you know the number of speakers in your recording).

5. Click “Generate Transcript”

Make sure you have enough credit in your balance to start transcribing.

Audiogest will begin transcribing your file. Processing time depends on the duration of the recording, but expect recordings shorter than 1 hour to be finished within 5 minutes.

After upload: reviewing your transcript

Once ready, you'll be redirected to the transcript page. Here you can:

  • Edit the transcript
  • Play back the audio
  • Generate AI summaries, insights, or reports
  • Export the transcripts + AI document
  • Copy the transcript to your clipboard

  • Max file duration: 5 hours

Troubleshooting tips

  • Make sure the audio is clear and intelligible
  • If the file doesn't upload, check format and size
  • Use speaker labels for multi-person recordings
