How to transcribe Zoom meeting recordings
Last updated January 18, 2026
Zoom's built-in transcription features
Zoom offers automatic transcription for cloud recordings on paid plans (Pro and higher). When you record a meeting to the cloud, Zoom can automatically generate transcripts with speaker labels for English meetings. You can also enable live transcription during meetings for real-time captioning.
Zoom AI Companion (included with paid plans) provides meeting summaries, smart recordings, and chat summaries after meetings end.
Why use Audiogest instead
While Zoom offers basic transcription, Audiogest provides professional features for teams who need more from their meeting transcripts:
- Accurate transcripts with speaker labels - More accurate transcription with better speaker attribution and inferred names, supporting more languages than Zoom's transcription
- Custom AI summaries - Generate any type of summary or deliverable using custom prompts tailored to your workflow, beyond Zoom's standard meeting summaries
- Team collaboration and exports - Share transcripts and summaries with your team within Audiogest, or export in multiple formats (Word, TXT, SRT)
